Prior to joining Corinthian Capital, Mr. Akhtar was an Associate at H.I.G. Capital Management, a $4 billion private equity firm, where he evaluated investments in the media, consumer and telecommunications sectors. Mr. Akhtar also worked extensively with portfolio companies, advising management teams on growth strategy and operational issues. Previously, Mr. Akhtar founded and led the growth of MVisions, Inc., a Boston and European based defense and technology firm, whose assets were acquired by General Dynamics. Mr. Akhtar also held management roles at a leading 3G wireless infrastructure company, Airvana, Inc. (NASDAQ : AIRV), where he was a product and strategy lead.

Mr. Akhtar is a graduate of Harvard Business School (M.B.A. 2008) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (B.S.E.E. 2000; M.S.E.E. 2001).
